3/1/01 A fire which
is believed to have started by power lines, destroyed a shed and a large amount
hay stored within and outside the shed between Port Elliot and Victor Harbor.
3/1/01 A
loader driven by the Deputy Group Officer from Victor Harbor is used to spread
out the still burning hay.
3/1/01 After
the damaged hay is spread out onto cleared ground, it is allowed to burn further
before finally extinguishing it, to assist with clean up operations and containment.
Tankers from both the Goolwa and Victor Harbor Groups, along with other units
from the Goolwa Group, are called in to assist with the operation and to deal
with any outbreaks that might result within adjacent pasture.
